The fabrics of the Jokipiin Pellava x Kuovi collaboration collection are woven with a white warp. However, the background color of the woven fabric is not white, because it is the mix of warp's and weft's colors. For example white warp and dark gray weft produce light gray background color and the overall appearance of the fabric is gray like typical linen textiles as in the picture above. The back side of a woven fabric has inverse colors and it is a matter of taste which one is better.
The warp is linen and the weft is cotton in Jokipiin Pellava's woven fabric. The Ökotex certificate quarantees that the yarns do not contain chemicals harmful to humans. The linen yarns come from Western European farms and thus we can reliably trace the origin of the raw material and make sure that the cultivation and manufacturing processes are organic.
Linen products shrink 7-10% in the first wash. An unwashed product does not absorb moisture, but the absorbency starts after the first wash.
